The Villas
The Villas. Fictionally renamed "The Hillside Villas" on the first season of "the hills" for security purposes. Yep that's right. I live in the same apartment complex that Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag, and Audrina Patridge lived in on the first and second season of MTV's "the hills". It's so wonderful here, and everybody who has the opportunity to live in a place like this for their first apartment is extremely fortunate. It's located in West Hollywood, right in between Beverly Hills and Hollywood. Perfect Location! Although it's pretty cool that they lived here, we've heard from resident's who have lived here during the filming of the hills, that said it was the biggest pain in the ass having them live here because they would do things such as: closing down the front gate to shoot lauren driving in (which they had to do many retakes of) as well as closing down the pool when lauren and her friends would lay out, etc. We've also heard that many resident's moved out of the Villas due to LC and friends! haha It just goes to show you how fame isn't a big deal in LA. Everyone is either already famous, knows famous people, or thinks their famous. Therefore an MTV show shooting at their apartment complex is more of an annoyance rather than something to brag about. However for people like me....growing up in the San Francisco area, I think it's pretty damn cool! Check out the link below, its the first episode of the hills showing my apartment. :)
The Hills (Season 1) | Ep. 1 | 'New City, New Drama': "Lauren and Heidi move into their new place to start their new lives in The Hills. But the girls begin to drift apart when Lauren's new found responsibility towards school and work clashes with Heidi's partying, drama filled lifestyle."
The Bay to LA
It's been a little over a month now and I'm still trying to take in the fact that I'm on my own in the city of fame, fakes, and fortune. It's hard living on your own. Especially when you've spent your entire life living at home with your parents in the same town, with the same friends, and the same old song and dance. Although I have 3 other room mates to contribute to the paper towels, garbage bags, rent, etc. It is still a whole new ballpark from living at home with your parents. LA is like no other place in the world. The people here are like no other people in the world. Generally speaking people come here to pursue careers, absorb the art of Hollywood, and well ...party. LA is a dog eat dog world, and if you want to be successful in this city you better hit the ground running. Luckily for me, I hit the ground jogging and things have been lining up well for me. I've already gotten my foot in the door as far as the fashion industry goes, and for only being 18 I think I've made a pretty good name for myself out here in LA so far.
